The Galloway Hoard contains the richest and most varied range of Viking-Age objects ever discovered in Britain and Ireland, including an unusual Anglo-Saxon quatrefoil brooch, from which this pin badge is a detail. The iconography on the original brooch depicts two of the five senses - sight and sound - with two of the heads blowing blast horns and the other two faces reacting accordingly!
