Rosie Ross Rug
This stunning rug features art by Rosie Ross, whose work uses a bright colour palette with a focus on bush medicine and wild flowers in her local area. Her mother was one of the original artists in the Utopian Batik movement and her daughter Margaret Ross is now an artist in her own right.
The beautiful, unique rug is a cross-cultural collaboration combining Rosie's artistry with traditional Kashmiri rug-making techniques. Chain stitched, hand dyed wool is finished with a heavy cotton backing and non-slip pads, measuring 91cm by 152cm. The rug features an inconspicuous sleeve for a hanging rod, and can be hung on the wall as a feature piece if desired.
Rosie is an artist with Better World Arts, who recognise that culture is strengthened when traditional skills and lifestyles are valued and supported, and people are enabled to stay in their own communities. Royalties from all Better World Arts products are returned to artists and their communities.
