The truly monumental Brachiosaurus weighed up to 58 metric tonnes and measured up to 21 metres in length from head to toe. Sauropods such as Brachiosaurus are believed to have developed their long articulated necks to reach foliage high above the ground, which would have been inaccessible to shorter, land-dwelling animals.
Brachiosaurus' sheer size would have made it difficult prey and a formidable opponent, however evidence suggests that larger therapods of the late Jurassic (such as Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus) might have preyed upon or even specialised in hunting such creatures.
This anatomical model is only a fraction of the size of the original, and based on the latest scientific information, and is a great figurine for play, study and decoration.
